Agnes Chu

Agnes is a graduate of Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in vocal music under the tutelage of Ms Margaret Yim. She has obtained DipABRSM in Voice and is an award-winner and scholarship recipient for outstanding music performances and music creativity. During her undergraduate studies, she has been awarded K. Wah International Vocal Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies offered by Opera Hong Kong.

With passion in teaching, she is now an executive music director and conductor in Li Si Lai Children and Youth Choir, instructor under Mini Cake Theatre, singing coach in Kowloon True Light Middle School, and choral coach in North Point Government Primary School (Cloud View Road). She had also been course coordinator in Hong Kong Treble Choir, chorus master and vocal tutor for Young Singers Summer Opera Festival 2019, musical theatre instructor in Hong Kong Adventist Academy, and choir coach in choirs and ensembles from her Alma Mater, St. Stephen's Girls' College. She received choral conducting training from Mr Patrick Chiu during her Undergraduate studies.

As a singer, she has appeared as Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia opera scene project during her undergraduate studies under the supervision of Ms Carmen Koon and project director Ms Juni Ng; and has interpreted Cherubino from Le Nozze di Figaro in Maurizio’s Opera Production Competition in Italy in 2017 Summer, under the guidance of Italian directors, Maurizio di Mattia and Maurizio Colasanti. She had also participated in vocal masterclasses from Gong Dong-jian, Jessica McCormack, Klaus and Helen Donath, and had received vocal training from prominent Italian Soprano Norma Fantini, along with Italian renowned Opera singer Carmine Monaco d’Ambrosia and Alba Riccioni at Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples, Italy in 2017.

With active participation in the music circle, Agnes has performed in various countries including Canada, Italy, Russia and Finland. She is now a member of Bel Canto Singer's Ensemble.
